Showstopper! The Improvised Musical (*****)

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of watching Showstopper! The Improvised Musical at The Other Palace. This is an unusual one to review considering no two audiences will ever watch the same show, but I’m going to give it my best try!

Violet (****)

Based on Doris Betts’ novel The Ugliest Pilgrim, Violet is set in North Carolina, 1964, and follows the story of Violet Karl, a young woman with a facial disfigurement from her childhood on a quest to find her miracle and finally be healed.

True West (****)

Set in the 1980s, this twisted comedy of sibling rivalry sees Kit Harington and Johnny Flynn playing brothers pitted against each other in a bid to achieve their American dream.
